Up to this point I have just been doing push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups in different hand positions, knee-ups, and dips. I have also been using the Perfect Push-Up.
I now want to get into weight lifting. Would it be okay to lift weights every other day or should there be a bigger gap? Can I do the same weightlifting workouts on days that I lift or must I do different workouts? Please explain.

I was looking online for some running shoes and came across weight lifting shoes and wanted to know what the difference was between the two. I run and weight and know that running shoes can better your performance by a ton when you run long distances but do weight lifting shoes do the same when lifting? If so how? Thanks to all who answered.

The reason why most of these people is not to weight gain, not because they follow a good workout routine. Research training designed for your body is always the key to the collection of samples.

What kind of weight lifting will make my punches faster instead of slowing them down and at the same time ofcourse making me stronger.
Is doing the traditional up to the shoulder and down to the leg standing up motion the right way for what I’m saying?
I already have the weights to use.
So what I’m asking is do I have the right format to gain strength while increasing speed instead of decreasing it.

I decided to get back in shape and have been exercising for about a week and a half now. I lift a pair of 3lbs dumbbell in between three 20-minute cardio activity. Someone said I should switch to heavier weights after 2-3 weeks. Is it advisable. I’m not trying to bodybuild, but just trying to reduce my weight.

I like to go to the gym alone. I am trying to develop my upper body. I am an extreme novice and know nothing about weight lifting. I would like to do an exercise that develops the chest. But I don’t like to work out with anyone else because the weight lifters scare me. I don’t need someone pushing me to do something that will hurt myself. And I don’t want to be humiliated because I have trouble lifting the bar without the weights.

I’m a mid-twenties woman and just getting back into excersizing cause I am really fat. I need to lose about 30 lbs and tone all over, but I don’t know how to do it. I want to try weight lifting, but I have never done it before, and I have a lot of questions:
Is it better to do many reps with low weights or a few reps with heavy weights?
I usually jog a couple miles 3 or 4 times a week. Should I do this before or after lifting?
Do I need to warm up or stretch before I start lifting?
How many times a week should I go to the gym?
I am completely lost. Any advice will help!
